2024 Survey results are in!

A mega 29% of you responded (industry rate is less than 5%). Here's what you said:

97% satisfaction rate

Thank you so much for your vote of high praise in 2024. We would say this is an unprecedented number, but it matches the 97% score awarded for the 2023 event too - an enormous source of pride for our team.

NPS score

Events are also rated by something called an NPS score. In plain English, it measures how many participants are either deemed detractors, neutral to or promoters of the event. Anything between 0-30 is "good", 30-50 is "great" and 50+ "amazing".

We're blown away to announce that your survey responses rated RBC GranFondo Whistler 2024 with an NPS score of 60!

What you said

"The atmosphere of the race is great. I could not think of better start than Stanley Park where I ride regularly. The whole route is amazing and shows what BC is all about with great views, outdoors, sports and all people cheering. It is a special experience, not just competing but also in general. I want to do it every year."

"I was nervous about some of the logistics of moving my bike and getting home by bus, it was so well organized!!! I really appreciated that."

"Traffic control [closed lane] is outstanding, and the number of stops are spot on. Supply is more than enough and the Forte medal is awesome."

The rest-stops were very well stocked with plenty of options. While trying to fill my water bottles and holding a closed can of coke, I dropped it and it exploded, spraying me with pop all over my legs. One of the water attendants kindly offered to hose my legs down so I thankfully did not have to suffer through the last 20km with hot sticky coke all over myself, and I was thrilled to actually get a chance to cool off from the heat. The volunteers throughout the event were amazing!"

We'll cheers to that with an ice cold margherita!

How about improvements?

As ever, we're always looking to make this industry-leading event even better. Here are some of your suggestions:

  • More bike racks at rest stops - this we can do!

  • Too much food leftovers - Did you know we donate leftover food to local foodbank communities such as the Whistler Community Services Society and Kits Neighbourhood House?

  • Provide gels - we actually make an effort to avoid providing these! Gels are not just a direct contribution to landfill, but in fact contaminate entire recycling bags if they're present. It's our stated aim to reach 90% waste diversion (Zero Waste), and with our 2024 score of 88%, gels are one of the key reasons that 90% does not get hit.

Thank you once again for your feedback, support and passion. The 15th year anniversary was a year to be proud of, and a great reminder of what we all have to look forward to again on Sat Sept 6, 2025!

2024 critics' review: see what GranFondoGuide said

“Life begins at the end of your comfort zone”

- Neale Donald Walsch

"I was rudely awakened by the Air Canada Boeing 777 touching down at Vancouver International airport, full reverse thrust kicked in.

"After grabbing my luggage and heading to immigration, the officer asking me, “What’s the reason for your visit Sir?” I replied, “I’m riding the RBC GranFondo Whistler”. Raising his eyebrows, he said “just you? I paused, smiling, trying not to be a smart ass and quipped “just me and around 5,000 other cyclists”. He chuckled and waved me through.

"I jumped on the SkyTrain to the waterfront in downtown Vancouver. The weather was stunning over 23C (75F) and not a cloud in the Sky. It was Wednesday. The biggest event of the year stood right ahead."

Reel competition winner announced! Watch now

Congratulations to Vicki H of Seattle / Taipei, we absolutely loved your reel recap of the event and have named you official reel 2024!

Vicki also wins a athlete video / photo promo shoot thanks to Fistbump Filmworks!

Here's what Vicki had to say of her experience:

"It was my first time riding in British Columbia and the views were incredible!!! It’s a privilege to be able to cycle and to get to experience this. To cross bridges, climb Cypress and descend as the sun rises is something I’ll never forget.

"This was one of those rides where I remembered why I love cycling, how amazing it is to feel so alive, to experience the beauty of nature and the mountain, and to have so much adrenaline with thousands of other riders. Thankful for the cycling community, to be able to drift behind others, for the people I met, for the GIANT MEDAL! 😆

"The biggest thank you to @rbcgranfondo for hosting this incredible event. The aid stations were 💯, food supply was a lovely surprise 🧇, and having gender specific bathrooms made the biggest difference mentally and emotionally.

"Plus, honored to be one of the 37 female riders out of the 444 who rode the Forte and thankful to have made it to the end!"
