The difference between a a good and great day come ride day often comes down to preparation.

Luckily, our official bike store, Bici, have put together this handy quick list of things to dial in so that you have a friction-free experience on the event!

**Tire Pressure & Setup**

* For most riders, 85-95 psi (check your tire or rim manufacturer as some limit psi lower than 95) for 25–30mm tires hits the sweet spot between speed and comfort (a touch lower if it’s wet).

* Check your tires for cuts or wear, fresh rubber rolls faster and gives more confidence on descents.

* If you’re running tubeless, top up sealant at least a week before the ride.

**Dial in Your Position**

* Even small tweaks to saddle height or handlebar angle can improve comfort over 4+ hours.

* Avoid big changes right before the event, test adjustments on your training rides now.

**Fuel Smart, Early & Often**

* Aim for 60-90g of carbs per hour (100+g if you’re pushing for a sub-4hr finish).

* Mix up Hornby bars, chews, and Blonyx drink mix so you don’t get palate fatigue (there's real food at the rest stops too!)

* Start eating within the first 30 minutes, don’t wait until you’re hungry.

* It’s important to train your body so make sure that you try the products you’ll use on the day of on some rides beforehand; it’s best to start on the low end of 60g if you don’t have time to train your guts.

* Don't forget: there's no nutrition at Horseshoe Bay. Plan smart with a strong breakfast, and bring the nutrition supplied in your swag bag with you in your jersey pockets or bike bag.

**Manage Hydration**

* One bottle with carb mix, one with Blonyx Hydra+ electrolyte drink or plain water.

*   Plan where you’ll refill: Whistler’s climbs hit harder if you’re under-hydrated.

**Keep Contact Points Happy**

* Quality bib shorts, well-fitted gloves, and fresh bar tape make a big difference in comfort.

* Chamois cream can prevent chafing on big days.

**Pace the Climbs**

* From Horseshoe Bay to Whistler, save your legs by keeping a steady, sustainable power.

* If you’re riding in a group, take short turns in the wind and communicate clearly.

**Pre-Ride Check**

* Clean and lube your chain.

*   Check brakes and shifting.

* Make sure all bolts are snug, but don’t overtighten.

* When in doubt, come in and chat to your bike store mechanic.

* Remember: bike stores are at their busiest the few weeks before Fondo day. Get in early to avoid delays and disappointment.
